President Lee Jae-myung, currently on a state visit to Mexico, said, "I will take good care so that you do not have to worry about the Republic of Korea, at least while I am in office," adding, "There will absolutely never be a situation where I exceed June 2, 2030."

President Lee made the remarks on the evening of September 24, local time, during a dinner meeting with the Korean community in Mexico City, adding, "For those who have such concerns, please do not worry."

June 2030, mentioned by President Lee, is when his presidential term concludes, and his remarks are interpreted as once again dismissing speculation regarding a consecutive term raised primarily by the conservative opposition, clarifying his stance once more.

Earlier, at a press conference held at Cheong Wa Dae on September 18, President Lee also stated, "A second term for me through a constitutional revision is constitutionally impossible," emphasizing, "I state firmly once again: I have no intention whatsoever of seeking a second term."
