President Lee Jae-myung, currently on a state visit to Mexico, met with local Korean residents and stated, "I will take good care of the country so that you do not have to worry about South Korea, at least during my time in office," adding, "Under no circumstances will I ever stay beyond June 2, 2030."

Speaking at a dinner meeting with the Korean community in Mexico City, President Lee added, "For those who have such concerns, please do not worry."

June 2030, mentioned by President Lee, marks the end of his presidential term, and his remarks are interpreted as once again making it clear that he will not seek a second term.

Earlier, during a press conference held at the Blue House on September 18, President Lee also stated, "Seeking a second term through a constitutional amendment is constitutionally impossible for me," adding, "I state firmly once again: I have absolutely no intention of seeking a second term."
