The national canoeing team also delivered a golden race. In the men's kayak four 500-meter final, they edged out China after a fierce battle to win the event's first-ever gold medal.

The national team—featuring South Korean canoeing staples Cho Gwanghee, Kim Hyobin, Jang Sangwon, and Choi Mingyu—started from lane 4 in the 500-meter final. They passed the 250-meter mark in first place by a razor-thin margin, just 0.04 seconds ahead of China in the adjacent lane.

The close battle continued into the second half, but maintaining flawless teamwork until the very end, our team fended off China by 0.255 seconds to cross the finish line first.

Having won silver medals in two consecutive editions in 2018 and 2023, the national team climbed to the highest step of the podium in this event for the very first time in history.

Cho Gwanghee and Kim Hyobin will challenge for another golden paddle tomorrow (the 25th) in the men's kayak double 500m event.

In the shooting skeet mixed team event, Jang Gukhee and Lee Jongjun claimed the silver medal.

After advancing through the preliminaries in second place, they engaged in a fierce battle with China in the final, falling just one point short against China—which shattered the world record by five points—and had to settle for South Korea's first-ever medal in this event at the Asian Games.

The national shooting team will continue their quest for a mixed team title tomorrow, featuring air pistol individual gold medalist Choo Gaeun and Paris Olympics gold medalist Oh Yejin.
