The movie "The Assassin(s)" has taken the No. 1 spot at the box office right upon its release.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing network on the 24th, "The Assassin(s)" drew 134,464 viewers nationwide on its opening day, the 23rd, claiming first place at the box office.

Surpassing the opening scores of "Humint" as well as "The King's Warden" starring Yoo Hai-jin, which captivated audiences during the Lunar New Year holiday season, the film signaled a strong start fitting for a highly anticipated Chuseok release. With this, Yoo Hai-jin has won over audiences during both Lunar New Year and Chuseok, demonstrating his powerful box office ticket-selling clout leading the holiday theater scene.

"The Assassin(s)" depicts the pursuit of suspicions and the mastermind behind the assassination of the First Lady that shocked South Korea on August 15, 1974. Directed by Hur Jin-ho, known for "Christmas in August" and "The Last Princess," the film stars Yoo Hai-jin, Park Hae-il, and Lee Minho.

The No. 2 spot at the box office went to "Tazza: Beelzebub's Song," which was released on the same day and attracted 103,366 moviegoers. The Netflix film "Possible Love," released for a limited run, drew 19,032 viewers to debut at No. 6 at the box office.
