U.S. President Donald Trump stated on the 22nd (local time) regarding the situation with Iran that a critical decision must be made on whether to reach an agreement with Iran or annihilate it.

He also stated that he believes an agreement with Iran will be reached right after the midterm elections in November.

During his keynote speech at the high-level segment of the UN General Assembly held at the UN headquarters in New York that day, President Trump said, "I have to make a critical decision," presenting the options of giving Iran a chance at reconstruction through negotiations or completely annihilating it.

He continued, "However, I believe a deal will be struck right after the election," adding, "Because it wouldn't make sense for Iran not to do so."

President Trump emphasized the U.S. principle of Iran's denuclearization, stating, "I will never allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons."

Furthermore, he stated, "I urge all nations to join us in imposing total economic isolation on Iran until it stops attacking commercial vessels, abandons its nuclear ambitions, and ceases its support for terrorism."
