Level tests administered to young children at private academies will be banned starting next month.

The ban includes written and practical exams and interviews conducted for the purpose of recruiting young children or dividing them into classes, as well as evaluations that rank levels of specific abilities.

Academies or tutoring centers caught conducting level tests will be subject to a fine of up to 3 million won.
