Writer Yu Si-min, who has continuously criticized President Lee Jae-myung, launched a direct attack, claiming that the President has been deceiving the public.

Appearing on Media Today's YouTube broadcast "Yu Si-min and Media Today Discuss" today (Sept. 22), Yu took issue with the prosecution reform goals recently stated by President Lee during a press conference.

During a press conference on the 18th, President Lee stated, "The original goal was to separate prosecutors in charge of investigations from those in charge of indictment, dividing the investigative agency and the indictment agency within the Ministry of Justice."

Regarding this, Yu pointed out, "The prosecution reform the President had in mind was different from the prosecution reform we envisioned," adding, "It is wrong to say that dividing the current prosecutors' office into two was the maximum extent of prosecution reform."

He then asserted that the President has deceived the public.

As for the ruling bloc unity message delivered by the President in his recent press conference, Yu dismissed it, evaluating that "it was a largely meaningless remark" and "the phase where such remarks could salvage the situation has long passed."

Regarding President Lee's call for the ruling bloc to refrain from mutual criticism, Yu said, "Those who created those derogatory terms and cast stones are people who insist that only President Lee is right," adding, "This speaks to the suspicion that the President may be at the center of all these events."

He diagnosed that the recent decline in President Lee's approval ratings has been influenced by policy factors as well as the defection of his traditional support base.

Yu claimed, "Many of those who have supported President Lee are standing with their arms crossed, turning their backs, and joining in the criticism."

Since President Lee's inauguration, Yu has consistently clashed with him within the pan-ruling bloc over issues such as prosecution reform.
