The movie "The Assassin(s)" has surpassed 200,000 in advance ticket sales just a day before its release.

According to the Korean Film Council's box office ticket sales aggregation on the 22nd, "The Assassin(s)" maintained the number one spot in both categories, recording an advance booking rate of 30.4% and 204,000 pre-sold tickets.

"The Assassin(s)" drew significant attention on the 20th by overtaking the movie "The Odyssey", which had maintained the top spot in advance booking rates for a long period, to claim first place overall. This added meaning as it marked the first time a Korean film topped the overall advance booking chart in 64 days.

As the current box office leader "The Intern" is maintaining daily attendance in the 30,000 range, it has become highly likely that "The Assassin(s)" will take the number one spot upon its release. Although this year's Chuseok holiday is four days long, it leads into the National Foundation Day and Hangeul Day holidays in early October, making capturing an early lead crucial. This is why particular interest is focused on the box office results as "The Assassin(s)", "Tazza: Song of Beelzebub", and "Possible Love" are being released simultaneously.

"The Assassin(s)" depicts the story tracking the suspicions and masterminds behind the assassination of the First Lady that shocked South Korea on August 15, 1974. It is directed by Hur Jin-ho, known for films such as "Christmas in August" and "The Last Princess", and stars Yoo Hai-jin, Park Hae-il, and Lee Min-ho.

The film is set for release on the 23rd.
