Lee Chang-sub (35), a member of the group BTOB and a solo artist, shared a message with fans reflecting on himself following a controversy over remarks he made on a web variety show.

On September 22, Lee took to the fan communication platform Fromm, writing, "It feels like there is a boundary people should keep, but while carrying out my recent schedules, it seems I unknowingly crossed that line." He added, "In my thoughts of wanting to do better, be funnier, and be more memorable within content, I found myself obsessing without realizing it. I had grown numb to provocative expressions. I will return to my roots, reflect on my words, actions, and way of expression, and strive to become a reasonable person."

This is interpreted as a statement addressing the controversy surrounding his remarks made on the YouTube channel "Sibicheung," which was released on September 17.

In the video, a story was introduced about a couple who got into a dispute because a boyfriend, who picked up his girlfriend in his car on every date, kept asking her to throw away his trash from inside the car.

Regarding this story, Lee Chang-sub, Kwak Beom, and pH-1 reacted strongly with the view that the girlfriend lacked consideration, while JiU also took the boyfriend's side. On the other hand, only Kim Won-hun defended the girlfriend, saying, "Since it is personal trash belonging to the boyfriend rather than garbage generated during the date, he should handle it himself. Saying 'I did this much for you by picking you up, so you should do this much for me' is childish."

In response, Lee reacted strongly, saying, "He picked her up without missing a single day. Conversely, if the boyfriend told his girlfriend, 'I'm tired, so take the bus,' she would probably get upset," and, "If she had paid for gas out of gratitude for him picking her up in his car, the boyfriend asking her to 'throw away his trash' might have felt a bit off." However, he also backed down somewhat, stating, "If it was only the boyfriend's trash, it could feel unpleasant."

Following the broadcast, reactions in the comment section were mixed. One netizen left a comment saying they would not want to ask even an acquaintance to handle trash, while another stated they found it hard to understand the very idea of asking a lover to throw away one's own garbage. There were also reactions saying that if keeping score in a relationship like this is what love is, it would be better not to be in one.
