The White House has launched "Trump TV," a 24-hour streaming channel on YouTube dedicated to news and coverage regarding U.S. President Donald Trump, political media outlet The Hill reported on September 21 (local time).

According to the report, the White House began broadcasting the channel under the title "Trump TV: The Essential Station" starting at 7 p.m. Eastern Time on that day, airing various speeches and events attended by President Trump.

The inaugural broadcast featured footage of President Trump visiting Mount Rushmore in South Dakota and delivering a speech on July 3, the eve of the U.S. semiquincentennial Independence Day.

Mount Rushmore is the site featuring the giant carved faces of four former U.S. presidents: George Washington (1st), Thomas Jefferson (3rd), Abraham Lincoln (16th), and Theodore Roosevelt (26th).

The official White House X (formerly Twitter) account also announced the launch of the Trump TV stream that day, introducing it by stating, "Updated live 24/7. Watch past greatest moments, major announcements, and the administration's newest and greatest news all in one place."

The White House has also created a "Livestream" section on its official website where viewers can watch Trump TV.

Additionally, the White House website has launched "White House Live," which broadcasts White House events via live streaming.

The Hill noted that the launch of the "Trump TV" broadcast channel comes just days after the White House, acting on President Trump's instructions, banned reporters from CNN, Politico, and MSNow from entering the premises.

Gavin Newsom, the Governor of California and a frequently mentioned potential Democratic presidential contender, pointed out on X, "Trump has blocked independent media from the White House, and now he has literally launched a state-run broadcaster to bury the fact that he and his corrupt administration are failing the American people."

He went on to criticize, "This is truly the dictatorial behavior of a failing president."

Previously, on September 18, President Trump announced a ban on press access to the White House for CNN, Politico, and MSNow, claiming they had reported "fake news."

On September 21, these media outlets filed a lawsuit in court demanding the restoration of their White House press credentials, arguing that President Trump had stripped them of their constitutionally guaranteed freedom of the press.

ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox News—which operate the White House press pool alongside CNN—also stated that the press ban constitutes a violation of freedom of the press, and starting on September 21, they suspended the pool coverage system in which they took turns covering President Trump's schedule and sharing the reports with domestic and foreign media.
