A woman in her 70s taking a walk at a citizens park in Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, was attacked by a badger that suddenly appeared.

She was bitten on 14 parts of her body, including her legs and hands, underwent general anesthesia surgery, and has been hospitalized for three weeks of treatment.

Following the accident, the Jecheon city government set out to capture the badger, but the exact population of badgers living in the surrounding area has not been determined.
