A woman in her 30s, consumed by anxiety after her stalker failed to appear for his warrant review, has been arrested by police after going to the man's home with a weapon.

Immediately after the incident, the female victim used a smart watch provided by the police for personal protection to report herself.

The Gyeonggi Anyang Manan Police Station announced that it has apprehended and is investigating a woman in her 30s, identified as A, on charges of preparation for murder.

A is accused of going to the home of a man in his 50s, identified as B, located in Manan-gu, Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, at around 8:00 PM yesterday carrying a weapon.

Investigations revealed that A broke the door handle with a pot she had brought in advance and entered the residence.

However, because B was out, the two did not actually cross paths.

A and B first met earlier this month.

They happened to meet at a drinking gathering, and after it ended, B followed A to her home and damaged her screen door, leading to police investigations regarding stalking.

A pre-trial detention hearing, or warrant substantive review, for B was scheduled to be held at the court on the 21st, but B failed to attend.

During police questioning, A reportedly stated that she thought, "I cannot live like this in fear. I have to harm him myself," after B did not show up for the warrant review.

Afterwards, A prepared a weapon and went to B's residence, but failing to find him, she used the smart watch provided by police for the protection of stalking victims to directly contact authorities and turn herself in.

Police dispatched to the scene apprehended A on the spot.

Determining that A was experiencing severe stress and posed a high risk of self-harm or harming others, police immediately took steps to place her in emergency hospitalization.
