Singer PSY, who was indicted on charges of receiving non-face-to-face prescriptions for sleeping pills and having his manager pick them up on his behalf, has been sentenced to a summary order of a 5 million won fine.

A summary order is a procedure in which a court imposes a fine or penalty through a paper review for relatively minor offenses.

PSY is accused of receiving non-face-to-face prescriptions for psychotropic drugs used as sleep inducers from a university hospital in Seoul from 2022 until last year, and having a third party, such as his manager, pick them up via proxy.

In July, prosecutors summarily indicted PSY and a university hospital doctor, while issuing a suspension of indictment for the manager and other medical staff.
