The women's Asian Games national football team advanced to the quarterfinals as group runners-up after a hard-fought draw against "powerhouse" North Korea.

Having both secured two consecutive wins, the national team faced off against North Korea for the top spot in the group, but conceded the opening goal in the 35th minute of the first half due a defensive error.

Yoon Soo-jung leveled the score right after being substituted in at the start of the second half.

With a delicate touch, she penetrated the open space and pierced the corner of the net.

It was unfortunate that Kang Chae-rim's subsequent shot missed the goal.

Having weathered crises thanks to goalkeeper Kim Min-jung's brilliant saves, the national team settled for a 1:1 draw, advancing to the quarterfinals as group runners-up behind North Korea, who edged them out on goal difference.
