Kim Keon-hee, who was put on trial on charges of "selling government offices," will receive her appellate sentencing today (September 22).

Kim is accused of receiving luxury jewelry worth 100 million won from Lee Bong-kwan, chairman of Seohee Construction, in 2022 along with a request for a favor regarding his son-in-law's personnel appointment.

She is also facing charges of receiving a golden turtle from former National Education Commission Chairperson Lee Bae-yong in exchange for the chairperson position, and accepting a luxury bag from former senior prosecutor Kim Sang-min along with a request for nomination support.

Kim was sentenced to 7 years in prison in the first trial.
