Late-summer heat is set to continue today (September 22), particularly in western regions.

Temperatures in Seoul and Daejeon are expected to climb to 29°C (84°F), and Gwangju to 30°C (86°F), making it warm, whereas Gangneung will remain relatively cool at 24°C (75°F).

Looking at current temperatures across regions, Chuncheon started at 13.7°C (57°F) and Cheongju at 18.5°C (65°F).

With afternoon highs reaching 29°C (84°F) in both Chuncheon and Cheongju today, most areas will experience large temperature swings once again.

Skies will be clear nationwide today, resulting in strong ultraviolet rays.

Gyeongsang coastal areas will continue to experience strong winds today, and with dry air and moderate winds concentrated mainly in the Seoul metropolitan area, small sparks can easily turn into large fires, requiring special caution against blazes.

The Chuseok holiday is expected to be mostly cloudy or overcast.

Rain is forecasted for the northern coast of Gangwon Province on the morning of Friday, Chuseok day, and in southern regions and Jeju Island on Saturday.

The weather will gradually grow cooler as the latter half of the week approaches.
