An oil tanker passing through the Strait of Hormuz on the 21st (local time) was struck by an unidentified attack, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).

According to military authorities notified to the UKMTO, the tanker was hit by an unidentified projectile while entering and navigating the strait.

Two crew members sustained minor injuries, but the vessel is reportedly moving normally toward its next port of call while maintaining its own power.

To date, no environmental damage, such as an oil spill, has been reported.

Authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.

The UKMTO urged vessels passing through nearby waters to exercise extreme caution and advised them to report any suspicious activity immediately.
