As no gold medals have emerged for two consecutive days in shooting, a traditionally reliable source of medals, the Korea Shooting Federation has stepped in to support the transport and meals of the national team competing at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games to help improve their performance.

The federation held an on-site joint meeting today, September 21, at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Range in Japan, attended by national team coaches, the federation's administrative office, and executive leadership, to listen to the difficulties faced by the athletes and staff.

Officials, including President Kang Yeon-sul, convened the meeting after no gold medals were won through the second day of the shooting competitions.

Coaches expressed difficulties, noting that the shuttle buses provided by the organizing committee run infrequently, resulting in long travel times, and that athletes have to endure standing or being packed into crowded buses for over an hour without being able to rest along the way.

In response, the federation decided to independently source buses to assist with the transportation of South Korean athletes competing each day, starting at 7:00 AM tomorrow, September 22, until the end of the competition.

Addressing feedback that the lunchboxes provided at the venue are inadequate, South Korean instant noodles and kimchi will also be procured locally.

Encouraging subsidies were also delivered to help athletes relieve fatigue after finishing their matches.

Meanwhile, Ban Hyo-jin (Daegu Public Facilities Management Corporation) and Park Ha준 (KT) will compete for South Korea's first gold medal of this tournament in the 10m air rifle mixed team event scheduled for tomorrow, September 22.
