This Divine Bell of King Seongdeok is more familiar to us as the "Emille Bell."
It is the subject of that famous folktale claiming an infant was cast into the molten metal when the casting struggled to succeed.
However, did you know that this legend only began to spread widely in the 20th century?
It is said that the story appears nowhere in the historical records left by our ancestors.

Furthermore, the bell once faced the peril of being melted down in the early Joseon Dynasty.
And the person who stopped that crisis was none other than the very historical figure we all know.
Though we think we know it well, there is actually far more we may not know about the Divine Bell of King Seongdeok.
