Kim Young-beom (Gangwon State Office) has delivered South Korea's first swimming gold medal of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

Kim touched the pad first with a time of 21.66 seconds in the men's 50m freestyle final held earlier today at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre in Japan.

With this victory, South Korea has won the event for the second consecutive time, following Ji Yu-chan (Daegu Metropolitan City Hall) at the 2022 Hangzhou Games.
