Regarding Presidential Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik's offer to resign, President Lee Jae-myung said today (September 21), "I have not yet decided what to do (about accepting his resignation)."

At a meeting of senior presidential secretaries he chaired that day, President Lee made the remark toward Kang, saying, "The Cheong Wa Dae staff work under great hardship, and working day and night has also caused health issues. It seems our Chief of Staff wants to 'graduate.'"

President Lee encouraged them, saying, "Many people, including the Chief of Staff, are struggling physically, and you have worked hard through hardships for a long time."

He added, "Still, I hope you take comfort in knowing that compared to the hardships our people face on the ground or in daily life, (the staff's difficulties) may not be that great."
