A hackathon has been held where corporate chief executive officers directly brainstormed ideas and sought solutions to accelerate the artificial intelligence transformation of manufacturing sites.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy hosted the M.AX CEO Hackathon today (September 21) at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Sejong, focusing on the artificial intelligence transformation of the manufacturing sector, also known as AX.

The event brought together some 50 CEOs from regional industrial complexes, along with representatives from AI specialized companies, the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, and the Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology.

Participants were divided into 10 teams to discuss the practical challenges their respective manufacturing sites are facing and explore AI-driven solutions.

In particular, AI experts and corporate representatives worked together on-site to closely examine the required technologies, scale of investment, and government support measures, focusing on finding ways to make AI technologies practically applicable.

The Ministry announced plans to provide follow-up support to ensure that the tasks identified during this hackathon can be successfully implemented in actual manufacturing environments.
