Political commentator Kim Sung-wan has been appointed as the new Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson.

According to Cheong Wa Dae today (September 21), Spokesperson Kim officially began reporting to work on this day.

A former journalist with Media Today, a news outlet specializing in media affairs, he has also hosted radio current affairs programs.

He is currently active as a current affairs commentator on broadcast television and radio.

The post of Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson had been vacant since his predecessor, Representative Jeon Eun-soo, resigned in late April to run in the National Assembly by-election for the Asan-B constituency in South Chungcheong Province.

With Kim's appointment, the Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson team has restored its three-member system, comprising Chief Spokesperson Kang Yu-jung, Spokesperson Kim, and Deputy Spokesperson Ahn Gwi-ryeong.
