French actor and musician Charlotte Gainsbourg will attend the 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) to connect with Korean audiences.

According to the Busan International Film Festival organizers, Gainsbourg is scheduled to participate in various programs, including film screenings, a special talk, and a CineClass, reflecting on her artistic world and acting career spanning more than four decades.

During this year's festival, a special screening will be held for the film "Melancholia," personally selected by Gainsbourg. Following the screening, she will participate in a special talk alongside actor Jung Eun-chae to discuss behind-the-scenes stories and her collaboration with director Lars von Trier.

Additionally, a CineClass under the theme "Charlotte Gainsbourg, Muse of French Chic" will take place on October 8 at 1:30 PM at the Shinsegae Centum City Cultural Hall, with ticket reservations opening on September 21 at 2:00 PM.

The daughter of Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, Gainsbourg debuted in 1985 with "L'Effrontée" and went on to star in numerous acclaimed works, including "Antichrist," "Melancholia," and "Nymphomaniac," winning the Best Actress award at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. Her recent projects include director Wes Anderson's "The Phoenician Scheme" (2025) and the Amazon Prime series "Étoile" (2025).

The 31st Busan International Film Festival will take place from October 6 to 15 around the Busan Cinema Center.
