Judge Kim Yeon-soo of the 1st Criminal Division at the Cheongju District Court's Chungju branch has sentenced a restaurant owner, identified as A, to a fine of 7 million won on charges of indecent acts by abuse of occupational power under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.

According to the legal community on September 20, owner A was indicted for allegedly committing indecent acts four times against a part-time worker in their 20s, B, at the restaurant he operated in December 2024.

Investigations showed that he stroked B's hair, waist, and arms, and grabbed both of B's wrists to force them into a chair without any apparent reason.

Judge Kim stated in the ruling, "Although the defendant denies the crime, there are chat records of the victim complaining to a friend, the victim's statements are specific, and considering that the defendant changed statements, it is sufficient to acknowledge that the defendant committed indecent acts against the victim," adding, "The sentence was determined by taking into account that the degree of the indecent act was not severe."
