Today (September 21), daytime temperatures in Seoul are expected to climb up to 30°C (86°F), about 5 degrees higher than usual, making it quite warm during the midday hours.

Mornings and evenings will remain crisp, leading to large temperature swings.

Daytime temperatures are expected to gradually drop around the Chuseok holiday.

Strong sunlight is expected to beat down across the country today.

In particular, the ultraviolet index will rise to very high levels, mainly in the southern regions.

During the morning commute, fog will be somewhat dense in parts of Gangwon, North Chungcheong, and North Gyeongsang provinces.

Winds will blow strongly along the coast of the Gyeongsang region through tomorrow, and the air will be dry in the Seoul metropolitan area and the Chungcheong region, requiring caution against wildfires and other fires.

Current temperatures start at 18.1°C (65°F) in Seoul and 15.6°C (60°F) in Daegu. Today's daytime highs are forecast to reach 29°C (84°F) in Chuncheon, Daejeon, and Daegu, and 30°C (86°F) in Gwangju.

Around Chuseok, there will generally be passing clouds, with rain expected in the southern regions and Jeju Island on Saturday.
