The South Korean women's soft tennis national team secured a bronze medal after missing out on a spot in the finals, following intense battles that went to the final game in all three matches against Taiwan.

Led by manager Ko Bok-sung, South Korea lost 1-2 in match score to Taiwan after a 2-hour and 42-minute grueling semifinal clash in the women's team event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games held today (the 20th) at the Higashiyama Park Tennis Center in Nagoya, Japan.

Soft tennis awards bronze medals to both losing semifinalists without a third-place playoff.

In the first doubles match, South Korea's Lee Su-jin (Okcheon County Office) and Kim Han-seol (iM Bank) narrowly lost 4-5 in game score to Hsu Chao-ying and Huang Shih-yuan.

Singles player Hwang Jeong-mi (NH Nonghyup Bank) leveled the score by defeating Chang Min-yi 4-3 after a 45-minute hard-fought battle.

The final second doubles match also saw a continuation of tight contests.

Um Ye-jin (Mungyeong City Hall) and Kim Yeon-hwa (Anseong City Hall) lost 4-5 to Chou Yen-chen and Lo Shu-ting following a 1-hour and 16-minute grueling duel.

With South Korea and the Philippines claiming the bronze medals, Taiwan will face Japan for the gold medal at the same venue at 2 PM today.
