Ahead of joining the first roster of the newly launched national team led by coach Moreno, Son Heung-min of Major League Soccer side LAFC put on a stellar performance with one goal and one assist for his club.

Starting in the away match of the 27th round of MLS against the San Jose Earthquakes held at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, Son scored the opening goal in the 34th minute of the first half while the match was deadlocked.

After receiving the ball near the center line and surging toward the left side of the penalty arc, he found the bottom left corner of the net with a precise left-footed shot.

Having recorded one goal and one assist against Real Salt Lake on the 6th, Son found the back of the net for the first time in three matches, bringing his total goals for official matches this season to 8 (6 in the regular league and 2 in the CONCACAF Champions Cup).

Son also added an assist in the 8th minute of the second half.

Receiving a pass from Delgado near the center, Son dribbled swiftly into the right side of the penalty area and delivered a cutback, which Bouanga—rushing in from the opposite side—pushed home with his right foot from the left side of the box to score the team's second goal.

With this assist for Bouanga, Son increased his season assist tally to 13, tying with superstar Lionel Messi (Inter Miami) for the lead in the MLS assists standings.

Despite Son's multi-point performance, LAFC had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

In the 36th minute of the first half, defender Aaron Long received a red card and was sent off, leaving the team at a numerical disadvantage. Ultimately, after taking a 2-0 lead, LAFC conceded two unanswered goals and missed out on a victory they had nearly secured.
