The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Delivery Service Mutual Aid Association announced today that they will expand the traffic safety-related insurance premium discount rate for delivery workers from a maximum of 5% to 11% to encourage safe driving and reduce their financial burden.

Delivery workers can receive a 5% insurance discount for each item by completing traffic safety education, or by installing a digital tachograph or a front license plate on their motorcycles.

The discount items can be applied concurrently, allowing workers to enjoy up to an 11% reduction in insurance premiums solely through traffic safety-related discounts.

The expanded discount rates will apply to new subscriptions or renewals for the Delivery Service Mutual Aid Association's Paid Transport Monthly (30-Day) Mutual Aid Insurance starting tomorrow.

Existing subscribers can also receive the discount benefits by signing up for the relevant special terms.

Insurance subscriptions can be made through the mutual aid association's mobile application or website.

This measure follows the mandatory requirement for delivery workers to subscribe to paid transport insurance, which took effect with the revision of the Living Logistics Service Industry Development Act on June 3 of last year.

The mutual aid association plans to launch a specialized driver injury support product within this year to prepare for traffic accidents occurring during deliveries.

The product focuses on strengthening coverage for accidents occurring during delivery operations and supporting the livelihood stability of workers by compensating for a portion of their income.
