The Changwon District Court's Criminal Division 6, presided over by Judge Woo Sang-beom, sentenced a man in his 20s, identified as A, to one year and six months in prison for breaking into a lottery shop just four days after being released from prison for quasi-robbery and other charges.

A is accused of breaking the tempered glass door of a lottery shop in Seongsan-gu, Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do, with a stone at around 5:00 AM on June 24 and stealing a small safe containing about 340,000 won.

Investigations revealed that A committed the crime just four days after completing his previous sentence of one year and six months for quasi-robbery and other charges at Andong Prison on June 20.

According to the investigation, A grew greedy after watching a lottery shop employee count money two days before the crime. He asked to borrow money, but after being turned down, he decided to commit the robbery.

The court explained the reasoning behind the sentencing, stating, "Considering that the crime was committed merely four days after completing a sentence for the same type of offense, and that these acts were carried out during a probation period for crimes including injury, there is a high risk of reoffending."
