The KT Wiz showcased fierce late-game momentum to continue their run at the top of the standings.

KT secured a dominant 15-3 victory over the Doosan Bears, banging out 16 hits in their home game of the 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League held at Suwon KT Wiz Park on September 19.

After hitting a slight bump with one draw and one loss following a recent seven-game winning streak, KT added another win to widen the gap with the second-place Samsung Lions, who lost today, to 2.5 games.

The game was a see-saw battle until the middle innings.

Doosan drew first blood in the top of the first inning with a double by Yunior Severino and an RBI hit-by-pitch by Jung Soo-bin.

KT pulled one back in the bottom of the second inning when Han Seung-taek hit an RBI single.

Doosan extended their lead to 3-1 in the top of the third inning on a sacrifice fly by Kim Dae-han.

Mounting a counterattack, KT tied the game 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Choi Won-jun launched a two-run home run into the outfield stands.

In the sixth inning, capitalizing on an opponent error, KT concentrated five hits to score a massive five runs, quickly pulling ahead 8-3.

After batting around and adding another five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, KT sealed the victory in the bottom of the eighth when Sam Hilliard hit a solo home run.

Hilliard, who put on a stellar performance going 4-for-5 with 4 hits, hit his 37th home run of the season, closely chasing the division leader Kim Do-young (40 home runs, KIA Tigers), who is participating in the Asian Games, and second-place Austin Dean (39 home runs, LG Twins).

Visiting Changwon, the KIA Tigers defeated the NC Dinos 5-1 to break their dinosaur jinx.

KIA, which had struggled whenever facing NC this season including an eight-game losing streak, previously trailed significantly with a head-to-head record of 2 wins and 11 losses.

However, in the top of the second inning with two outs, Kim Ho-ryung singled to left-center off NC starting pitcher Koo Chang-mo, and Kim Tae-gun brought him home with a double to left-center to open the scoring.

In the third inning, with one out and the bases loaded, Kim Sun-bin hit a two-run single to left field to take a 3-0 lead.

In the top of the fifth inning, Na Sung-bum added another run with a solo home run over the center-field fence.

NC got on the board in the bottom of the sixth with a sacrifice fly by Kwon Hui-dong, but KIA celebrated their victory with an RBI single by Han Jun-su in the top of the ninth.

Nail pitched through six innings allowing 3 hits and 1 run with 6 strikeouts, breaking his three-game losing streak against NC to claim his 11th win (7 losses) of the season.

The sixth-place NC Dinos fell to their sixth consecutive loss, making their chances of reaching the postseason increasingly slim.

In Busan, where the Yeongnam rivals clashed, the ninth-place Lotte Giants played the spoiler by coming from behind to beat the second-place Samsung Lions 5-3.

Samsung took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning following a triple by Koo Ja-wook and an RBI double by Lewin Díaz.

Lotte turned the tables in the bottom of the fifth when Son Sung-bin hit a double and Jang Doo-sung drew a walk, before Victor Reyes drove them both home with a double to left-center to make it 2-1.

Samsung reclaimed the lead 3-2 in the top of the sixth on a two-run home run to left field by Jeon Byung-woo.

However, after the sides changed, Lotte tied the game 3-3 when Na Seung-yeop hit a triple and Jeon Min-jae singled to left field.

In the bottom of the eighth, leadoff hitter Han Dong-hee smashed a solo home run over the center-field fence to retake a 4-3 lead, and secured the win following a balk by Samsung's fourth pitcher, Jang Chan-hee.

Lotte moved up one spot to eighth place, passing the Hanwha Eagles.

In Jamsil, the LG Twins defeated Hanwha 2-1, powered by a solo home run from Lee Jae-won.

Claiming their sixth straight win, the third-place LG Twins have neared a direct berth to the semi-playoffs, while Hanwha suffered their sixth consecutive loss.

The game featured a tense pitching duel between starters Lim Chan-kyu and Owen White.

Lim Chan-kyu, co-leader in wins, pitched brilliantly through seven innings with 6 strikeouts, allowing 5 hits and 1 run, but recorded a no-decision.

White also pitched strongly over 7 innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 run with 5 strikeouts, but left empty-handed.

LG took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Park Hae-min reached on a single to left field and scored on a wild pitch.

Hanwha tied it 1-1 in the top of the sixth on an RBI single by Han Ji-yoon.

However, in the bottom of the eighth, LG's Lee Jae-won launched a massive solo home run well over the center-field fence to score the thrilling winning run.

LG's second pitcher, Go Woo-suk, pitched a scoreless inning allowing 1 hit to earn the win.
