Late-summer heat appeared today, Saturday (September 19).

Daytime temperatures were about 3 to 4 degrees Celsius higher than usual for this time of year, with Dobong-gu in Seoul reaching 32.2 degrees Celsius (90°F) and Yangju surpassing 31 degrees Celsius (88°F).

Tomorrow, as the country remains under the edge of a high-pressure system, the daytime heat will continue.

Tomorrow's daytime high in Seoul is expected to be 29 degrees Celsius (84°F), similar to today, and most regions except the east coast will experience a wide temperature range of around 10 degrees Celsius between day and night.

Clear autumn skies will continue tomorrow, bringing strong ultraviolet rays.

The UV index will soar to "high" in most areas, and up to "very high" in some southern regions and Jeju.

Amid the clear skies, very thick fog is expected to form mainly in the inland areas of Gyeongsangbuk-do until tomorrow morning, and strong swell waves will roll heavily along the coast.

Tomorrow morning's low in Daejeon will be 17 degrees Celsius (63°F), slightly lower than this morning, while daytime highs will rise significantly to 31 degrees Celsius (88°F) in Gwangju and 29 degrees Celsius (84°F) in Daegu.

The late-summer heat is expected to continue until the middle of next week, and temperatures are forecast to gradually return to normal around the time the Chuseok holiday begins.
