A man in his 50s has drowned while fishing at Yedang Reservoir in Yesan-gun, South Chungcheong Province.

According to the South Chungcheong Fire Headquarters, the 50-year-old fisherman, identified as A, fell into the water from a fishing platform at Yedang Reservoir at around 10:24 PM yesterday.

He was reportedly reported missing to emergency services when a companion who came fishing with him noticed he was nowhere to be seen.

Emergency responders who rushed to the scene searched the surrounding area of the reservoir and found A dead at around 0:30 AM today.

Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
