The LG Twins defeated league leaders KT Wiz, extending their winning streak to five games.

In an away game against KT held at Suwon KT Wiz Park today (September 18) for the 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League, LG secured a dominant 12-1 victory thanks to a strong pitching performance from starter Anders Tolhurst and a explosive batting display by Oh Ji-hwan.

With today's win, third-place LG moved 3 games ahead of the fourth-place KIA Tigers, boosting their chances of advancing directly to the semi-playoffs.

It was a rare and decisive victory for LG, which had struggled heavily against KT this season.

LG had fallen far behind with 5 wins and 10 losses up to the previous day, including suffering four consecutive losses to KT in the first series of the second half.

However, backed by Tolhurst's solid pitching and a barrage of 15 hits, LG overwhelmed KT's pitching staff, which was missing three key pitchers who were called up for the Asian Games.

KT managed to get on the scoreboard late in the bottom of the 7th when Kim Hyun-soo hit a solo home run.

However, LG sealed the game in the top of the 8th by adding five more runs, highlighted by Oh Ji-hwan's two-run homer.

Oh Ji-hwan recorded 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 4 RBIs, including two home runs, as well as a triple in the top of the 7th.

League leaders KT paused their momentum, going 1 draw and 1 loss following a seven-game winning streak.

In Daejeon, the Samsung Lions defeated the Han화 Eagles 10-4.

Samsung opened the scoring in the top of the 2nd inning with Koo Ja-wook's double.

In the 5th inning, Samsung scored 5 runs as Park Seung-kyu hit a two-run triple, Koo Ja-wook hit an RBI single to left, and Choi Hyung-woo smashed a two-run homer into the outfield stands, pulling ahead 6-1.

Samsung sealed the game by adding three more runs in the 6th.

The Hanwha Eagles clawed back 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th behind doubles from Huh In-seo and Jang Kyu-hyun, but fell to their fifth consecutive loss.

Samsung starter Ariel Jurado earned the win, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits while striking out 7 batters over 7 innings.

In Busan, the Lotte Giants defeated the desperate NC Dinos 9-6, snapping a three-game losing streak.

In the 4th inning with one out and runners on first and second, Lotte extended their lead to 5-1 following Na Seung-yup's RBI single, Victor Reyes' double, and Jeon Min-jae's bases-loaded walk.

Lotte capitalized on errors in the 5th inning to add two more runs, making it 7-1.

NC tried to catch up in the 7th when Park Min-woo hit a triple and scored on a subsequent grounder, followed by Yoon Jun-hyuk hitting his first-ever career two-run home run in the top of the 8th to narrow the gap to 5-7.

However, Lotte secured the win in the bottom of the 8th when Jeon Min-jae delivered a two-run single.

Sixth-place NC saw Blaine Crim hit a solo home run in the top of the 9th, but they fell deeper into a six-game losing slump.

Lotte's Jeon Min-jae led the offense with 2 hits in 3 at-bats, 2 walks, and 3 RBIs.
