President Lee Jae-myung has approved the appointment of Supreme Court Justice nominee Kim Sung-soo.

Justice Kim was recommended to President Lee on August 18 as the successor to former Supreme Court Justice Lee Heung-koo, and the motion for consent to his appointment subsequently passed the National Assembly following a confirmation hearing.

Kim becomes the first Supreme Court justice to take office since the inauguration of the current administration.
