The musical "The Great Gatsby," produced by a South Korean producer, has surpassed 1,000 performances on Broadway.

Performing at the 1,485-seat Broadway Theatre in New York, "The Great Gatsby" is the first musical on Broadway where Shin Chun-soo, head of OD Company, serves as the first South Korean sole lead producer.

According to Playbill data, cumulative attendance has reached 1.34 million, with cumulative ticket sales hitting 139 million dollars, or approximately 190 billion won.

According to official Broadway databases, out of all new productions that have opened over the past 10 years, only nine shows, including "Moulin Rouge!" and "Hadestown," have exceeded 1,000 performances.

Within just one year of its opening, "The Great Gatsby" was performed in London's West End and Seoul as well, and including its ongoing North American tour, it has met over 2 million audience members across 26 regions.

It has won a total of 19 awards, including the Tony Award for Best Costume Design and the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, and has been nominated in 37 categories.
