The Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) is applying the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation's (HUG) jeonse deposit return guarantee to approximately 200,000 jeonse rental households annually.
LH announced today (18th) that it signed a business agreement with HUG on jeonse deposit return guarantees for jeonse rental housing, which will take effect starting October 1.
Jeonse rental housing is a housing welfare project where, once tenants choose the housing they want, LH signs a jeonse contract with the landlord of the property and then subleases it to the tenants.
LH has previously protected tenants' deposits by making guarantee insurance subscription mandatory during jeonse rental contracts.
Under this agreement, LH and HUG will link the jeonse rental-related information held by both organizations to strengthen the management system from guarantee subscription to post-management.
In addition, HUG's "Ansium Jeonse App" will be utilized to allow users to check in advance whether a landlord is restricted from HUG guarantees and to review the property's rights relationship.
Plans are also in place to enable tenants to check lease-related information concerning priority-securing rights—which previously required separate confirmation through multiple institutions—all at once within the app.
Detailed information can be found on the LH Jeonse Rental Portal, and phone consultations are also available through the LH Jeonse Rental Call Center (☎1670-0002).
