The movie The Intern, starring actors Choi Minsik and Han So-hee and directed by Kim Doyoung, has claimed the top spot at the box office for two consecutive days.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing computer network on September 18, The Intern attracted 46,155 moviegoers the previous day on September 17, maintaining its position at number one. The cumulative audience count reached 128,721.

The Intern depicts an office life that transcends generations and job ranks, beginning when Keeho (played by Choi Minsik), a silver intern with 37 years of career experience, joins the company of Sunoo (played by Han So-hee), who rapidly emerged as a dark horse in the fashion industry three years after its launch.

Having debuted at number one on its opening day by drawing over 60,000 viewers, The Intern saw its daily audience number drop to the 40,000 range on its second day. To survive the upcoming competition against new releases targeting the Chuseok holiday, it must successfully defend the number-one spot through its first weekend while drawing as many moviegoers as possible.

Taking second place at the box office was The Odyssey, which drew 39,365 viewers on the same day. Its cumulative audience reached 10,960,848, surpassing Exhuma (cumulative audience of 11,913,725) to rank 21st in all-time box office history.
