President Lee Jae-myung's press conference, originally scheduled for 10:00 AM today (September 18), has been delayed by 30 minutes.
As a result, today's press conference will begin at 10:30 AM.
A Blue House official explained, "This shows just how responsibly and gravely President Lee is approaching this press conference," adding, "The schedule was pushed back by about 30 minutes to allow time to fine-tune his remarks until the very last moment."
With a pile of sensitive issues on the table—especially matters regarding the dropping of indictments, a constitutional revision allowing consecutive presidential terms, and controversies surrounding cabinet appointments including Justice Minister nominee Kim Seung-won—President Lee appears to be focusing closely on coordinating his messaging until the final minute.
In addition, he is expected to be deliberating until the end on what explanations to provide regarding foreign affairs and national security issues, such as troop deployment to the Strait of Hormuz and investments in the United States.
