Fatalities have been reported in Saudi Arabia for the first time since clashes intensified between the Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces and Houthi rebels.

The Saudi Civil Defense announced on the 17th, local time, that debris from a Houthi drone intercepted over the western city of Taif fell, killing 1 person and injuring 2 others.

The fatality was identified as a Yemeni national, while the two injured individuals were found to be a Saudi citizen and a Pakistani national, respectively.

The Civil Defense also reported that multiple buildings and vehicles were damaged by the falling drone debris.

Meanwhile, Al-Masirah, a media outlet affiliated with the Houthi rebels, reported that airstrikes by Yemeni government forces resulted in numerous deaths in Yemen as well.

Al-Masirah stated, "Airstrikes by Saudi-backed mercenaries (Yemeni government forces) in Taiz Governorate killed three children and injured multiple Yemenis."

According to the report, one person was also killed in a separate airstrike by Saudi forces.
