The corporate head of a large golf driving range bearing the name of renowned golfer Mi-hyun Kim, once nicknamed the Super Peanut, has been forwarded to prosecutors on charges of illegal subleasing.

The Incheon Nonhyeon Police Station announced that it recently forwarded a man in his 70s surnamed Kim, the father of Mi-hyun Kim and the head of the operating corporation for Mi-hyun Kim Golf World, to the prosecution for alleged violations of the Public Property Act.

Kim is accused of violating consignment contract terms by illegally subleasing parts of the facility without prior approval from Namdong District.

It was found that the facilities illegally subleased in this manner included a screen golf zone on the basement level, a restaurant on the first floor, and a golf equipment shop on the second floor.

Previously, the district office confirmed these illegal acts in March and requested compliance with the consignment contract, but filed a police complaint after the corporation took no significant action.

Mi-hyun Kim Golf World, built on a park site in Nonhyeon-dong, Namdong District, is a large-scale golf driving range with a land area of 27,069 square meters and a total floor area of 4,284 square meters. Kim serves as the head of the operating corporation.

After establishing the golf driving range in 2009, Kim's side donated it to Namdong District and secured a 25-year operating right until 2034 under a consignment contract.

Mi-hyun Kim debuted in the Korea Ladies Professional Golf (KLPGA) tour in 1996, advanced to the LPGA tour in 1999 where she won the Rookie of the Year award that same year, and claimed eight victories on the LPGA tour.
