It has been confirmed that a single account purchased 286 IMAX tickets for the movie "The Odyssey," which surpassed 10 million moviegoers 33 days after its release amid a fierce ticketing rush.

According to data submitted by CGV to the office of Representative Minhee Choi of the Democratic Party of Korea, who sits on the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, the top 30 accounts with the most ticket reservations during the roughly one month following the movie's release booked anywhere from a maximum of 286 seats to a minimum of 16 seats per account.

It was found that out of these top 30 accounts, 7 have already been subjected to "abnormal account measures," while the remaining 23 are currently undergoing "history analysis and explanation procedures."

Additionally, it was confirmed that the number of macro attempts detected and blocked by the CGV ticketing system over the two months of July and August amounted to approximately 224.9 million.

Representative Minhee Choi pointed out, "Certain accounts are repeatedly booking large numbers of seats for popular IMAX movies, and many of these accounts have been placed under CGV's own abnormal account measures or verification targets." She added, "We can no longer leave unattended a situation where regular audience members are forced to pay a premium to acquire tickets without even being able to access the booking page."
