(SBS Star | Kang Kyung-yun) Soyeon of the group (G)I-DLE has topped the Melon TOP100 chart with her solo title track "Quit My Job" (Narr. Kian84).

Upon seeing the news via her social media story on September 17, Soyeon could not hide her surprise, expressing, "Oh, wow, No. 1? Thank you, thank you, thank so much."

Previously, Soyeon made a pledge to hold a "vegetable buffet mukbang" if the song reached No. 1. Known for her dislike of vegetables—having made her firm tastes clear by surprisingly releasing "I Hate Veggies Song" last month—fans are already showing high expectations for whether she will fulfill this promise.

"Quit My Job" (Narr. Kian84) is the title track of Soyeon's first full-length album "Fantastic Life," released on September 7. Garnering reactions as an "office worker anthem" thanks to its friendly yet warm melody and honest lyrics, the song has steadily climbed the charts since its release. After securing top spots across major domestic platforms—ranking 6th on the Melon TOP100, 2nd on the Genie real-time chart, 2nd on the FLO chart, and 4th on the Bugs real-time chart as of September 15—it has now claimed the top spot on the Melon TOP100.

The track is also receiving an explosive response on social media. Amid buzz surrounding challenges conducted with Lee Sang-mi and Kian84, the song secured No. 1 on Instagram's trending audio chart and ranked 4th on YouTube's weekly popular songs chart. It also swept No. 1 across YouTube's trending music, daily popular music video, and daily Shorts popular song charts. In Greater China, it achieved "Double Gold" certification by ranking No. 1 on China's QQ Music bestselling digital album comprehensive daily chart and Korean music video chart, while also topping the Tencent Music Korea chart.
