A tunnel collapsed at a gold mine in Sagye-ri, Buk-myeon, Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, at 11:25 AM today (17th).

The accident left one worker in his 60s working inside the tunnel rescued in cardiac arrest and transported to a hospital.

Another worker in his 60s sustained a leg injury and is receiving treatment at a hospital.

The accident occurred at a point approximately 250 meters inside the tunnel entrance.

Police stated that there were two workers in the tunnel at the time of the accident.

Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the tunnel collapse.
