The hit film "The King's Warden", which surpassed 16.92 million moviegoers nationwide and ranked second all-time among South Korean box office hits, is landing on the small screen four months after its theatrical run concluded.

SBS will broadcast the movie "The King's Warden" as a Chuseok special feature at 9:30 PM on the 26th. This comes seven months after its release date (February 4) and about four months after its final theatrical screening date.

"The King's Warden" depicts the fateful journey of the young deposed king Yi Hong-wi (Park Ji-hoon), who was sent into exile in Cheongnyeongpo, and village head Eom Heung-do (Yoo Hai-jin), who is tasked with watching over him. The film was directed by Jang Hang-jun and stars Yoo Hai-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, and Jeon Mi-do.

Released ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, "The King's Warden" received enthusiastic love from audiences thanks to the cast's strong performances and direction that balanced humor with emotion. The film's box office success sparked a "Danjong syndrome," turning his place of exile in Yeongwol, Gangwon Province, into a popular tourist destination.
