The special counsel team investigating the shortage of ballot papers during the June 3 local elections has launched full-scale compulsory investigations just 10 days after its official launch.

This morning (September 17), the special counsel team dispatched prosecutors and investigators to a total of nine locations, including the National Election Commission and local election offices, to conduct raids.

This marks the first time the special counsel team has conducted a search and seizure since its official launch on September 7, with investigators securing materials including internal servers from election commission offices.

The special counsel team is currently investigating 12 allegations, which include the ballot paper shortage during the June 3 local elections, manipulation of voting statistics, junket-like overseas trips by election commission officials, preferential hiring and promotions, and preferential private contracts and collusion with contractors.
