A landlord was reportedly left in utter shock after inspecting the condition of a house after a tenant of eight years moved out.

Recently, a landlord posted photos of the interior of the house taken after the tenant moved out on social media.

The photos show large water leak stains left on the ceiling, while the walls are covered in yellowish stains presumed to be caused by cigarette smoke.

The landlord expressed deep frustration, saying, "I didn't raise the monthly rent even once over eight years, but in 25 years, this is the first time I have ever seen a tenant like this."

It was reported that the tenant agreed to pay for specialized cleaning fees, but maintained the stance that the ceiling leak was not their responsibility.

In response, the landlord argued that the issue is not that the leak itself was the tenant's fault, but rather that the building suffered further damage because the tenant failed to report the leak for a long time.

Netizens reacted with astonishment at the condition of the house, commenting, "Would they have left it neglected like that if it were their own home?"
