Rapper Ksmartboi (Kim Sang-min, 22), signed to Indigo Music led by rapper Swings (Moon Ji-hoon, 39), has been arrested on charges of smoking marijuana while on probation.

According to reports from News1, on the 16th, Judge Yang Eun-sang, the senior warrant judge at the Seoul Western District Court, issued an arrest warrant after conducting a pre-trial detention hearing for Kim, who faces charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act (Marijuana), stating there are concerns of flight and destruction of evidence. Kim is accused of using liquid marijuana. The Mapo Police Station in Seoul obtained an arrest warrant from the court, arrested Kim on the 14th, and requested an arrest warrant the following day.

Kim already has a confirmed prior record of a guilty verdict for smoking marijuana. In December of 2024, he was sentenced to eight months in prison in the first trial and taken into legal custody for smoking marijuana with an acquaintance in a parking lot in Seoul in May 2024. At the time, the court pointed out, "Despite having a previous history of a suspension of indictment for the same type of crime, he committed the offense again, and the nature of the crime is poor as it was committed in a public place." Kim appealed the ruling, and in April of last year, his sentence was reduced in the second trial to eight months in prison suspended for two years, leading to his release.

This latest arrest comes approximately one year and five months later, while he was still serving that probation period, for being caught again on the same charges.

Back in January, Ksmartboi appeared alongside Swings on the YouTube channel "SPNS TV" and addressed the controversy caused by his marijuana smoking. At the time, Swings expressed deep trust, sharing, "When Sang-min caused trouble, he left a handwritten note in front of my door saying, 'I am sorry for losing your trust.' We've had about six people from our agency go to the detention center, but he was the first one to apologize like that."

In April, Ksmartboi joined the diss battle between rappers BIG Naughty and Swings, releasing "Naughty Talk + VANCOUVER FLOW" alongside GGM Kimbo and Rich Iggy, where lyrics such as "Put BIG Naughty in the toilet and flush him down" drew significant attention.
