Foreign Minister Cho Hyun will visit Washington, D.C., to hold a South Korea-U.S. foreign ministers' meeting.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today (September 16) that Minister Cho will visit Washington, D.C., from September 17 to 19, and his talks with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will take place on September 18.

During the meeting, the two sides are expected to discuss South Korea's investments in the United States, follow-up security consultations to the bilateral summit, and measures to build momentum for U.S.-North Korea dialogue.

In particular, amid growing domestic debate over whether to dispatch troops to the Strait of Hormuz, keen attention is focused on whether the two sides will exchange views on the matter during the upcoming foreign ministers' talks.
