Independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon said today (September 16) regarding allegations that Justice Minister nominee Kim Seung-won solicited approval for a new drug clinical trial, "Can an administration that shamelessly appoints an 'oppa poison lobbyist' as the head of the 'Ministry of Justice' last three more years?"

Appearing on SBS Radio's "Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show" today, Han claimed, "I assert that they will not finish their term."

When asked if he meant that the situation would deteriorate if nominee Kim is appointed, he replied, "I believe we should take to the streets, and I believe many people will come out into the streets."

Asked whether he himself would take to the streets, Han avoided a direct answer, saying, "You will see in due time."

He also did not give a direct answer when asked if he plans to release photos of nominee Kim and a broker surnamed Yang taken at home, criticizing, "Looking at their (the ruling camp's) posture, it seems they intend to push ahead even if photos taken of just the two of them at home at night are released, or even if videos are released."

Regarding the Democratic Party of Korea questioning the source of the materials on nominee Kim that he released, Han countered, "Demanding to expose the whistleblower is voyeurism that runs counter to the public interest."

Furthermore, responding to Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Dong-ah raising the possibility that Han might have obtained nominee Kim's indictment plan and other documents from the prosecution during his time as leader of the People Power Party, Han fired back, "The timing (of drafting the indictment plan) was long after I left the post of Justice Minister. I suppose Representative Kim Min-seok is receiving materials from the Justice Ministry right now."

Addressing the Democratic Party's fierce criticism accusing him of "using hate speech," he argued, "When fighting all alone against the true enemies of democracy, one cannot fight or win with mere words," adding, "A true politician's dignity at times like this lies in diving into the mud to rescue the public who are at risk of sinking into it."

Regarding Democratic Party leader Kim Min-seok calling his conviction for Political Funds Act violations "a scapegoat of the debut work by prosecutors of the 'Woo-geom-hoe' (Right-wing Prosecutors Society), including Yoon Suk Yeol, Han Dong-hoon, and Lee In-gyu," Han asked back, "Then did he not pocket the 900 million won?"

He added, "To be exact, it was 920 million won. Out of that, he received 250 million won from a sponsor and 4.5 million won every month. And then, as soon as he recently became party leader, he appointed that person as a special adviser to the party leader for civic group affairs. That is selling government posts."
